Love the excerpt (and the story of course) and enjoyed Charlotte’s comments.
Funny to see a the Sac Poetry Center on your page (even if automatically generated), that and Charlotte living in Portalnd and having written a book about Wyoming I feel like my past is spying on me. Does that make any sense?
Probably not but then my Creativity is whispering and it is hard to hear what she is saying.

I does make sense. It’s funny how often we find connections back to our past in peculiar places. I get the same feeling sometimes.
